The Possessor is a short story about a collector of art objects. He finally got his prize possession, the Emerald Jay, but at a price he could ill afford. Thomas Messenger is a short story about a woman who was taught to stop talking and start hearing by an Angel. The method was straight forward but ... well, something only an angel can do. The last piece, The Jungle, is about a trip to the Amazon jungle. Such a trip can be dangerous but that may be more due to the guide.
